6.0 magnitude Quake hits New Zealand

Its been just a week when we heard of the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal. According to recent updates, the death toll crossed 7256, rescue operations are still going on and many people from other countries like Canada are still stranded in parts of the Himalayan nation, Nepal. And now, the Live Breaking News Headline says, ‘6.0 magnitude earthquake hits the island country, New Zealand‘.

The news is from Wellington, May 4, 2015: An earthquake measuring six on the Richter scale hits New Zealand’s South Island today. The epicenter of the quake has been reported 30 km north-west of the Wanaka town. The tremor was ‘severe’. Some building shook, waking up people. Tremors were felt till the capital city, Wellington, that falls in New Zealand’s North Island.

However, the good news is that, unlike the quake in Nepal, this earthquake hasn’t caused any casualty or damage to property. God bless the lives of all… Let’s hope for a safe tomorrow!
